Happy Happy Time...
Happy Birthday to the original and still the best president containing the initials G-W. Among his many accomplishments:
- Effectively started the Seven Years' War (known in the US as the French and Indian War), the first truly world war
- Almost single-handedly held the army together and kicked the British out of America
- Was a deist - don't believe anything else
- Unlike all the other slaveowning Founding Fathers (Jefferson, Madison, etc.) freed his slaves
- Unlike the dozens of anti-colonial revolutionaries America and Washington inspired, he left office voluntarily

Pitchers and Catchers have reported to camp...
...and it's about time too -- you cannot understand how sick I am of American football. Random shit:
- Marc Lancaster, the Post's Reds beat writer, has started a spring training blog. He's only made a few posts so far, so I'll give him some time. The Post is Cincinnati's sadly declining evening newspaper, and has far superior sports coverage to the morning paper, the Enquirer. Of course, my and Ryan's combined, rarely updated blogs have better sports coverage than the Enquirer.
- Deja vu -- Ken Griffey, Jr. has reported to camp early and healthy, and anticipates a return to form this season.
- June 8 is Wily Mo Pena bobblehead doll night. It's a special version of the standard doll -- if you toss anything by it, the doll will swing at it.
